Following the decision to adopt a vegetarian for health reasons, many people ask how many of their favorite foods, they have to do without.

Two years ago I asked myself the same thing if I have the decision made on a vegetarian diet switch. The reality is that it is much easier than you think. It is also much more fun than I thought it would be!
Although something new can seem a little intimidating at first
, the key to a step-by-a-time is avoided, making overwhelmed.

Now I enjoy it so much that I never considered way back to my old SAD (Standard American Diet) possibilities. I’ll give you three easy ways to make the transition to your new life, making healthy vegetarian. Then, to help plan a meal, the gap even more.

1 Consider three vegetarian meals you already enjoy or find it easy to convert.

Being a vegetarian is not for everyone. If you are doing it for fun, you probably will not last for long. It is not because it is hard but it a life style change or habit change. There are many beneficial reasons for being a vegan. Some of the reason include cutting down on the fats, food poisoning and even weight loss. By avoiding meat your are cutting out a lot of fats that are bad for you and replacing them with food that are healthier and contain some good fats. This greatly reduces your risk of heart disease. There have been studies that shown vegetarians tend to have a lower risk to heart disease. Every year millions of people suffer from food poisoning, many of them for eating meat that are not stored, prepared or cooked properly. Which create a breeding ground for bacteria to grow. Cutting out meat consumption reduces you risk of food poisoning.

Do your homework. Read up as much as possible before you start. Check out a couple of good books in the library. Go to online forum, share your ideas or just post your questions. There are tons and tons of website available on the internet. Have a notebook with you. Look for some good recipe. Go for the simple one for starters. Do a recipe or two for a week. if it does not suit you, try another recipe. Trying making vegetarian snack food for work. There are many food that are a great substitution for meat and best of all the food taste just as great.

Stating try new food. Vegetarian dishes can be found all over the world. From Italian pasta to many Indian dishes to spicy Thai food to Chinese, Ethiopian, Moroccan, Mexican, South American and more. You can plan you weekly meal base on a theme, try some recipes or dishes from a particular country and then move to other ethnic food from other parts of the world.

If you decide to become a vegetarian, start yourself on a gradual transition. Giving up meat all at one go needs a lot determination. Have fun. Most of all, do not make becoming a vegetarian be a restrictive, grueling ordeal. If you feel like you are depriving yourself, you will not last long. But if you feel like you are doing something good, and trying out some great-tasting food, you will stick with it for much longer.

I have many friends in the past few years that have decided to become vegetarians. I saw friend after friend jump onto the bandwagon that being a vegetarian had become, and I’ll admit that I almost jumped on the wagon myself without giving the choice much thought.

After nearly two months of research and some pretty serious self-evaluation, I decided to become a vegetarian. There is no part of me that is against people deciding that being a vegetarian is right for them. My only frustration is that too often people make that choice without taking even a moment to think about the reasons why or the consequences that being a vegetarian will have on their lives.

So, my advice to you is simple and probably obvious. You only have one life to live, one body to live in, and a few short years in which to experience all of life that you can. So do not make the decision to become a vegetarian lightly or without thought. I would hate to see anyone commit to such a decision out of ignorance and then deal with the consequences long afterward.

One of the best ways to make a good decision about becoming a vegetarian is to inform yourself. Talk to objective people who have decided both for and against choosing a vegetarian lifestyle for themselves. Go to your local library or to a health food store and find literature on the ins and outs of actual vegetarian living. Learn the reasons why people choose to become vegetarians and see if your reasons measure up. The internet is another amazing resource that can help you make a wise and informed decision for you, your health needs, and your lifestyle.
